چکیده

This short report raises a correctness issue in the schedulability test presented in [6]: “Gang EDF Scheduling of Parallel Task Systems”, 30th IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium, 2009, pp. 459-468.

Further improved schedulability analysis of EDF on multiprocessor platforms TR-051001

This report shows how to tighten the analysis of global EDF scheduling on multiprocessor platforms, so as to verify the feasibility of a significantly larger range of task systems than has been possible using the previously known tests, including those recently by Bertogna, Cirinei, and Lipari. The improved EDF feasibility test for sporadic task systems with arbitrary deadlines is proven correc...

Tests for global EDF schedulability analysis

Several schedulability tests have been proposed for global EDF scheduling on identical multiprocessors. All these tests are sufficient, rather than exact. These different tests were, for the most part, independently developed. The relationships among such tests have not been adequately investigated, so that it is difficult to understand which test is most appropriate in a particular given scena...

Characteristics of EDF Schedulability on Uniform Multiprocessors

In uniform multiprocessor platforms, the various processors comprising the multiprocessor platform may have different computing capacities. The focus of this paper is the design of efficient tests for determining whether the Earliest Deadline First Scheduling Algorithm (EDF) can successfully schedule a given real-time task system to meet all deadlines upon a specified uniform multiprocessor pla...

Global EDF-based scheduling with laxity-driven priority promotion

This paper presents an algorithm, called Earliest Deadline Critical Laxity (EDCL), for scheduling sporadic task systems on multiprocessors. EDCL is a derivative of the Earliest Deadline Zero Laxity (EDZL) algorithm. Each job is assigned a priority based on the well-known Global Earliest Deadline First (G-EDF) algorithm, as long as its laxity – the amount of time from the earliest possible time ...

Schedulability Test for Soft Real-Time Systems under Multiprocessor Environment by using an Earliest Deadline First Scheduling Algorithm

This paper deals with the study of Earliest Deadline First (EDF) which is an optimal scheduling algorithm for uniprocessor real time systems use for scheduling the periodic task in soft real-time multiprocessor systems. In hard real-time systems, a significant disparity exists EDF-based schemes and RMA scheduling (which is the only known way of optimally scheduling recurrent real-time tasks on ...
